Helena Lacy is a ceramic artist. She creates sculptures and vases from clay that are bold, playful and tactile using the traditional coil building technique, and takes inspiration from the many textures, shapes and colours she finds from natural objects. Lacy’s new series ‘Firm Earth’ are abstract landscapes inspired by her discoveries in different parts of the world - from metamorphic rock layers in Vietnam to Cairns in Iceland. The ‘Lava Vase’ series turns Lacy’s sculptures into functional objects whilst keeping the primary element: the form. The ease with which one can enjoy these phenomena in nature, such as mineral formations and the oozing of hardening lava flows, is something she tries to replicate.

Helena Lacy (b. 1991, London, UK) lives and works in London. She graduated from Wimbledon College of Art, with a degree in Technical Arts and Special Effects.
