‘Prism I’ 2020
Lasercut perspex sculpture in an acrylic box with mirrored
20 x 15 x 15cm
Fiona Grady makes large site-responsive drawings on walls, windows and floors using sequences of dispersing geometric shapes. Printmaking and sculpture play an important role in her practice, allowing her to experiment with motifs, colours and textures while creating a more permanent record of a fleeting muse: Light. Her artworks recognise the relationship between architecture, installation art and decoration; referencing traditional techniques such as fresco painting and stained glass in a contemporary context.
Fiona Grady (b.1984, Leeds, UK) lives and works in London. She completed her MA at The Wimbledon School of Art (2011) and has had solo exhibitions in the UK and Europe and regularly exhibits in London. Her public commissions include Broadgate London (2018) and a nationally screened tv ident for ITV (2019). Grady was selected by the Mark Rothko Memorial Trust to receive a bursary and residency at the Mark Rothko Foundation in Daugavpils, Latvia in summer 2019.
